September Berry Fruit Crumble Recipe

A delicious berry fruit crumble recipe to make this September a comforting dessert for all the family to enjoy.  Extra special serve with freshly made custard or fresh cream. 

Serves 6

250g blackberries

110g raspberries

200g green apples, peeled, cored and chopped

1 tbsp golden caster sugar

1 tbsp water

85g unsalted butter, cubed

140g plain flour

Pinch of salt

50g golden caster sugar


1.Preheat the oven to 190C/Fan 180c/Gas mark 5 and grease the dish. Place the blackberries, raspberries, apple, sugar and water into the dish and mix well.

2.Blend and rub together the cubed unsalted butter, flour, salt and sugar in a mixing bowl until a crumble texture.

3. Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the top of the fruit. 

4. Finally sprinkle over with a little sugar for an extra crispy.

5. Place on a baking tray for and bake 45 minutes until golden and bubbling. Serve with freshly made custard or fresh cream.
